Why This Work Matters to Me
I grew up understanding that a business is, above all, a story of people. Systems exist to serve people — not the other way around. When people are treated well and work inside functional systems, they thrive. And so does the business.
My dear friend and mentor, an accomplished business man that started out from nothing, taught me what it means to lead a business with integrity. Toward the end of his career, we were working to ensure what he had built would endure beyond him. His sudden passing changed everything — the transition was never completed, and I witnessed his life's work come undone. That unfinished chapter has shaped everything I believe about legacy, relationships, and the people at the heart of a business.
My first acquisition attempt taught me something else: a handshake agreement means nothing if the deal isn't structured fairly for both sides. I've watched businesses close, employees lose their jobs, and communities lose economic anchors. That's what I'm trying to prevent — one deal at a time.
